Barotac Experience

Here are some of our pictures last April 14

Football Heat

Kristine and Karla's guide to surviving Barotac's Heat:
Summer heat + football guys + Three of the Azkals = To a really HOT day!!

If you plan on going to barotac nuevo to see some football actions yourself, you might wanna take a good look at this:
  • Apply lots of sunblock on exposed skin
  • Drink lots of water
  • Bring your camera. You'll never know who you might meet.
  • Make sure the shirt you wearing is yours before you let the azkals sign it
  • Watch out for ants. They may be small but their bites hurt big time
  • Watch out for the ball. Don't rely on someone to say "Heads up!" cause they never do.
  • Stay under the shade of a nearby tree
  • Be ready to cheer
  • Watch out for gums
  • Enjoy every second of it

Dans la cite de l'amour

"In the City of Love"

It was a great experience for me to be part of the French skit entitled "Dans la cite de l'amour" or in English "In the City of Love". We had a lot of fun practicing every afternoon. Even though some of us, including myself, were not part of the french class it was very kind of the french students to ask us to join them and for the teachers as well who allowed us.

After the presentation last March 3 ,2011 I felt different. I would always tell myself to meet with the girls for practice under the umbrella after class which of course I didn't do because I remembered that our french skit was over. It was sad not being able to hear Princess say " Company call, girls!" or "Dancers practice!". It sure does need some getting use to.

I love you French Fries!!!! ( that's what we call ourselves)

Parlez-vous francais?

Welcome my friends to Paris!

During the last few months, we spent most of our time practicing for the French skit although I don't take french lessons I was still part of it ( which is the greatest thing ever!). I'll never forget this experience of mine. On the left is a picture taken hours before we were about to present. During practices I learned a few french words like:

Merci- Thank you
Bonbon- candy
Oui- yes
Non- no
au revoir- goodbye
Excusez-moi - excuse me
Belle - beautiful

Sentences like:

Parlez-vous anglais? - Do you speak English?
Je' m'appelle- My name is...
Parlez-vous Français - Do you speak french?
La vie est belle - Life is beautiful

AVE MARIA

SIMALA is a BEAUTIFUL Place .
A castle full of statues of Mother Mary and some Saints. Lighting our candles, taking pictures, praying and reading all those inspiring stories sent by thousands of people about the miracles they experience made my day. Having visited simala with my whole family was indeed a beautiful blessing. Being able to share every moment of it thanking God for everything he has done.
